As many of you who have been following my skin journey for quite some years now, know how much effort I have put into healing my skin after suffering from cystic acne since the age of 12-13 years old.
I’m now 27, but taking care of my skin doesn’t stop there. Skin that is prone to acne and sensitive to changes is a life-long commitment to treating it with the right products and facial-treatments in order for it to always look as glowy as you’d want it to and for it to stay healthy especially the older you get as your skin will slow down it’s regeneration-process of turning over new cells, hence why we also get more lines and wrinkles when we grow older.
I tried out a new treatment at Laser Clinics Australia Bondi Junction which I always, always, always go to and have done so for over a year now. They have absolutely saved my skin, and I’m lucky to have had Rochelle (owner of LCA Bondi Junction and a dear friend of mine) to take me under her wing and care for my skin like it was her own. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself as being comfortable in your own skin (literally) means a lot. Now, back to the new treatment Laser Clinics Australia have just gotten in the door – it’s called HEALITE and it basically heals your skin with LED lighting.
Low-level light therapy with HEALITE is the therapeutic use of light emitting diode light to enhance your body’s natural cellular recovery, improving healing times, relieving pain, subsiding active acne, promoting skin rejuvenation and more. It does so by delivering concentrated energy deep into your tissue affecting your body at a cellular level. The deep penetrating LED lights are soothing, they target deep into the skin cells to heighten their internal functions, photo-stimulate dermal blood flow and induce faster healing decrease pain and reduce acne.
There are 2 different lights in this machine:
Yellow: which is good for wound healing, pain relief, muscle & joint pain, arthritis & skin rejuvenation.
Blue: to control active acne and heal the inflammation underneath your skin to stop the production of oil and bacteria.
The treatments only take 10-20 minutes and there is no downtime – in fact, you’ll probably have a nap whilst you’re there as it’s so comfortable and soothing.
I had skin needling before this treatment, and had the YELLOW light after – my face felt so soothed, and it’s already glowing and taking away the downtime I normally have after skin needling.
You DON’T need skin needling to have this treatment – this is a standalone treatment, however I got skin needling (which I can highly recommend for skin rejuvenation and acne scarring!!!) so the photos below I’m red in because I just had the skin needling as mentioned.
